Creating The Perfect Welcome Box

It’s Halloween all over again, and you do NOT want to be that family handing out pennies and apples. Customize your welcome boxes with items that your guests will want and that show your personality!

Whether you’re planning a destination wedding or something local, guests have come to expect and love the concept of a welcome box. As much fun as the box/bag design is, remember that guests tend to care more about what’s INSIDE the bag than if it’s wrapped in a pretty bow or not!

Consider including his/her favorite snacks, a hangover kit, a local treat (is the town known for its fudge? Chips? Taffy? Include a piece!), and a hand written letter thanking them for being there.

Another key piece of the welcome box is your weekend itinerary. Wedding maps are a great place to do this (esp for destination venues)! Have your location sketched out on a map and mark each area where an event is taking place. Then, on the back or bottom of the map, list out the where/when of each wedding activity. If guests are traveling from out of town, it’s also a good idea to add recommendations of where to eat and what to do nearby!
