Bridesmaid Dresses: A Round Up Of My Faves

Being a bridesmaid is great, but let’s be honest—getting stuck paying half your months rent for an unflattering dress you’ll never wear again isn’t (and no, you’re never going to hem the $400 blush gown to rewear at a later date). While it’s certainly an honor to stand beside your bestie as she ties the knot, it’s also expensive. Bridal shower gifts, flights, hotels, drinks, and probably a stripper at the bachelorette, a wedding gift, it all adds up!!

As a bride, I wanted to make sure my girls looked cohesive for the sake of pictures, but also wanted them to not stress about breaking the bank or feeling uncomfortable in an ill-fitting dress. Everyone is built differently, and so having them all wear the same style is fairly impractical. With this in mind, I had them choose any blush gown (could be varying shades of blush), in a chiffon fabric. I suggested they choose from Azazie, as the site allows you to mix and match colors and styles, and also keeps the price point between $89 and $129. I created a showroom on their website and had the girls add their top dress picks just so I could visualize their selections next to each other and provide any feedback. The company also lets you try on any dress at home for just $10 to make sure the fit and color is what you’re looking for. The girls were able to choose from standard dress sizes or enter custom measurements.

In addition to Azazie, I am a HUGE fan of Lulus. You’ve probably bought tops or rompers from them before, but it often gets overlooked for bridesmaid gowns! Their options are extremely affordable (most are under $100), and per usual with their site, you get free shipping/returns.

I’ve put a roundup of my favorite dresses below, each from Lulus or Azazie. While these companies are amazing for the bridesmaids to look/feel their best while remaining budget-conscious, it’s also important to remember that this is your day, and the priority should be that you love how they look as well. Don’t forget that! If I could do it all again, I would have given the girls 3-4 dress styles/shades to choose from, instead of having them choose themselves, because the unlimited options ended up being trickier for everyone involved!
