Perfecting Your Bridal Suite
Mimosas, Photos, and a Whole Lot of Tears
Details Organized
It really helps to lay out all of your items for the photographer’s “details shoot” the night before. When you wake up in the morning, the last thing you want to worry about is finding your lipstick or vows book, so keep all of those details in one spot (I put them in a gift bag, separated from everything else), so it’s easy to find!
You’ll want:
Lipstick
Vows book (his and hers)
Invitation along with RSVP card and itinerary card if you have one!
Save the date
Perfume
Shoes (mine were low, block heels for the big day, because comfort first and because nobody is looking at your feet I PROMISE…so I subbed a pair of gorgeous stilettos into my details pic because nobody needs to know)
Mrs Box with ring and bands (his and hers)
Take It All In
When waking up that morning, you’re going to experience something that you won’t get to experience for the rest of the day….SILENCE! TAKE IT IN! BASK IN IT!
Time With Your Parents
I chose to write a letter to my groom that morning, since the feelings were raw and genuine. I then had my parents come to my suite and gave them their gifts. It was an amazing 30 minutes to reflect on what was to come and enjoy each other’s company before the craziness all started!!
A Letter From Your Groom
Leave it to mine to forget his at home…so I was stuck reading it via email on my phone! Men!
But in all seriousness, reading a note from your soon-to-be-husband on the morning of your wedding is one of the most special moments of the day. Just make sure he prints it out and wraps it up!!
Food and Mimosas
When the bridesmaids enter, it’s nice to have some breakfast and champagne waiting for them! I had a spread of bagels, fruit, wraps, mimosas, and of course coffee! It’s a long morning and you’re going to need energy for it.
Glam Time
If you can, I think treating the girls to hair and makeup is an amazing way to say Thank You. I chose a company that does airbrushed makeup, and it was a GAME CHANGER. Anyone else fear the moment you have to hug someone in a white shirt and then casually glance back to see if you left any makeup on it? Well, that’s certainly a fear of mine and it has happened too often to count! The airbrushed makeup is AMAZING. Not only does it last all day/night, but it is completely non-transfer, and sweat proof. It goes on super smoothly and the pictures make it look like you applied every filter possible for a flawless finish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
When creating the timeline of who is getting hair/makeup in what order, I’d recommend putting yourself second or third to last. You want to be towards the end so the hair and makeup last as long as possible, but also want to leave yourself enough time in case you’re rushing towards the end (which you almost certainly will be)!
First Looks
I had my mom help me get ready and then had a moment alone with my dad. His reaction when he saw me for the first time had us both crying more than we did the rest of the day. It’s a moment I’ll always remember.
I then went out and showed the girls my dress for the first time, which was super special
