Capri - My Travel Guide

Getting There:

We took a ferry to Capri from Positano (about 30 minutes). There are scheduled ferries that leave from the beach multiple times each day…just check the times in the morning and buy your ticket a few hours in advance. We bought a return ticket that morning, as well, but I’d recommend getting your return ticket once you’re in Capri. We were ready to come home a few hours earlier than expected and ended up having to buy a new return trip. The ferries back are less frequent, so be sure to know their schedules and purchase yours a few hours before you’re ready to come back!

The ferry ride there offered ice cold limoncello shots, which you should definitely partake in if you’re never had it before!

Things To Do:

  • Once you arrive at the port of Capri, take the funicular to the top of the island. This is where most of the shops, restaurants and hotels are located. It’s a quick ride and costs about 2 euros per person.

  • Visit the blue grotto. Buy tickets once you arrive to Capri (about 15 euros each) and see the amazing turquoise waters. Be warned, though, the boat that takes you out there gets super crowded and we ended up waiting almost an hour before we were loaded into the 3-person canoe to enter the grotto. It’s a fun experience if you’ve never been before, but definitely very touristy

  • Giardini Di Augusto has stunning gardens with an unreal view of Capri

Where To Eat:

Lunch:

  • La Fontelina Beach Club: A fun and relaxing spot to lay out under the blue and white umbrellas, grab some fresh seafood or pastas for lunch, and have an aperol spritz or two. Make a reservation if you’re going in a summer month, because it does get crowded

  • Capri’s main plaza has TONS of restaurants to try!

Dinner:

  • Da Paolino Lemon Trees: Sit yourselves under the vast lemon trees and enjoy ALL of the dishes (from lemon gnocchi to lemon chicken and more)

  • AwardIl Riccio was awarded a Michelin star and for good reason. It belongs to the Capri Palace family and boasts a breathtaking view of the sea, along with fresh seafood options. The best part, though, is the dessert room, which has tons of treats for people who have as big a sweet tooth as me
